Contact Consulting Supports New Intern Scheme

We are delighted to be working with SG Smith on their first Intern Scheme, supporting them in the selection; recruitment; and training of the four undergraduates chosen for a 12 month placement based at their various Audi centres in South London.

Within the 12 months the undergraduates are to learn all areas of the business through 'on the job' training and 'off the job' training events and programmes provided by Contact Consulting.             

                          

We have worked closely with SG Smith to understand their needs, and to create a scheme which includes induction, training programme, and personal development plans for the candidates.

Working together, we have :

  • Attracted and shortlisted candidates
  • Designed and delivered an assessment day
  • Developed a brief and delivered training for Mentors within the company who were selected to support the Interns
  • Provided skills and review sessions for the interns including Communication, Influencing and Presentation skills.  

Philip Smith, Brand Director expressed his delight with the success of the scheme which has fulfilled a dual purpose - to give the undergraduates an insight into today’s automotive industry to see whether it might be the right career for them and to widen the pool of talented applicants from which SG Smith can now draw to fill future vacancies.

Tina Filtness an undergraduate from London South Bank University commented on what a positive experience the internship has been for her by providing ‘an overall feel for the business, its day to day routine and an understanding of how different it is learning about a business to being in a business’.
